Description & Services

Information
Brief History of St. Anthony of Padua

Prior to the establishment of St. Anthony's Parish in 1960, priests of St. Joseph's in Kentville served the Roman Catholics at Berwick, Aylesford, Cambridge and Morden. With the influx of Catholics during and following WW II, the need arose to erect churches in Aylesford, Berwick, and Morden and on the First Nations Community in Cambridge. The first resident priest was Father Yvon Guerin.

The needs of the church in Berwick grew, and renovations and expansions to the church enlarged St. Anthony's to accommodate the growing community. In April of 1998, the sod was turned for the new community centre. It was completed and officially opened on September 27th, 1998.

St. Anthony's is a christian community. The parishioners give of their time and talents to strive to meet the needs of its followers. All are welcomed in to this House of God.
