Information | May 2024 - Due to the damage from Hurricane Fiona in September 2022, Juniper Head Trail west of Juniper Brook bridge is closed until further notice. Please respect trail closure notices and signage. From Glen Road trailhead, the trail is open approximately 3.2 km (one-way) to the Juniper Brook bridge. The trail is closed beyond that point. You must turn around at the bridge and return the same way.
This trail is part of the Gully Lake Trail System of wilderness hiking trails. Juniper Head Trail is a linear 3.3 km trail starting on the Glen Road off Route 4 in Dalhousie, Pictou County. It is set in an immature spruce wood and an old sugar maple and yellow birch wood and has many old forest lichens. It passes old skidder roads, brooks, and ends at Juniper Brook and the Gully Lake Trail. Hikers are advised to read and consider the Cobequid Eco-Trail Society's Trail Users' Checklist before heading into the Gully Lake Trail System. Other trails in the Gully Lake Hiking Trail System:
