|Information||This is part of the Cobequid Trail, an 18 km network of trails in central Colchester County. Follow this trail along Cobequid Bay and the Salmon River estuary. From the trail you can see intertidal mud flats and salt marshes common in the Cobequid Tidal Bay landscape, a coastal, lowland plain surrounding the Minas Basin and Cobequid Bay. During late summer and fall migration, look for shorebirds feeding on mud shrimp on the exposed mud flats.
The Old Barns section is continuous with the Marshlands section of the Cobequid Trail, and is part of the Great Trail and Nova Scotia Blue Route.
Length: 3.5 km linear (one-way)
Permitted uses: walking, cycling, dogs on leash. No motorized vehicles.
Trail surface: firmly packed crushed gravel, wooden bridges
