Lazy Bay Trail is located at 45 North Shore Road, in East Wallace, just 200 metres off Highway 6, along the Northumberland Shore of Nova Scotia. The trail is 3 km long with a shortcut available to those who want to hike only 2 km. Often one can see Bald Eagles soaring, searching for food. There are two brooks along the trail in wonderful small ravines with mature hardwood and softwood trees. Closed-toed shoes are recommended. One should also expect wet conditions during extreme high tides.
Heading into the trail it is best to go right from the parking area and proceed along Waugh’s Brook towards Lazy Bay. Upon getting to the Bay you can walk about 800 m along the ocean frontage, going over several small bridges and relatively steep but short inclines. There are several opportunities to head down to the beach (not sand) along your hike. Turning back from the bay, you hike through forest and then along Clarke’s Brook toward the parking area.
