Information | AWESOME, PEACEFUL…absolutely Incredible! Come walk, enjoy the surroundings. Discover animal tracks, the wood frogs, the eagles that soar in the air currents above. Soak up the beauty in the filtered sunlight among the trees that shade the winding trail. Sit awhile in the beautiful ash and birch woods, among the poplars and firs that make up the Acadian Forest of the Maritimes. The trail is comprised of intersecting loops. Three distinct trails of varying lengths. Two people can easily walk abreast on the groomed trail. There are directional arrows on the trail. At the trail head a map is displayed showing trail routes. As well, there is signage regarding usage of the trail. Along the way are benches where one can stop, relax, soak up the essence of being in a natural landscape. Or perhaps read a book, or be serenaded by birds in the branches. (Please do not feed the wildlife as they become dependent on it; which lessens their survival chances in colder weather.) In the parking lot there is a recycle bin next to the Hall. Please use accordingly. Please bring your own doggy do bags, and use them. The trail is home to a multi-cache (meaning multiple stops where you have to gather info to get to the final) as well as 3 traditional caches that can be found using GPS co-ordinates. (N 45° 03.409 W 064° 23.910 or visit: Sam's Cache The more adventurous will find the single path, ungroomed trails which will take you into the wilder terrain. There is a spectacular view of the White Rock Pond and amazing old oak trees with tree trunks that would require four people to embrace its girth, touching fingers from outstretched arms. Discover an old Scout gathering spot. Look for an old foundation from days gone by. Enjoy the information contained in the plant ID signs... a great educational walk with children. |
