The Lunenburg and District Fire Department Proudly protecting the over 5600 citizens of the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg and Municipal District #1 and #2. 
 
The 48 firefighters operate out of a state of the art station, which was opened in 1996 with the cooperation of the Town of Lunenburg, District Fire Commission, Province of Nova Scotia, and the Government of Canada.
