Description & Services

Information Visit the Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre in South Maitland and learn about the famous Bay of Fundy tides, the highest tides in the world, and the unique Tidal Bore. The Interpretive Centre has staff and interpretive panels to tell you about the "reversing river" and the Tidal Bore, plus displays explaining the rich heritage of the area. Our Tidal Observation Deck offers a spectacular view of the Shubenacadie River and its red clay cliffs. 
 
Other area features include a nature park with trails, bird and eagle watching areas, as well as a marsh and pond system. 
 
The Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre is the only visitor information centre in East Hants. Bus tours are welcome - please call or email to inquire about tide times.
