Volunteer Opportunity By becoming a member of the Sackville Rivers Association, you are not only raising awareness of the Sackville River and supporting the restoration of our watershed, you are helping to preserve it for the future.

Description & Services

Information The Sackville Rivers Association (SRA), is a not for profit, registered charitable, volunteer based community group in existence since 1988 with approximately 200 members, concerned with the health of the Sackville River Watershed. The SRA’s mandate is to: 
 
1) Protect and where necessary restore the environment of the Sackville River Watershed 
2) Raise awareness about the environment of the Sackville River watershed and its adjacent watersheds 
3) Establish a Conservation Corridor along the length of the Sackville River 
4) Provide training and advice to community groups in other watersheds as needed, to restore the environment and raise environmental awareness 
 
Sackville Rivers Association manages the Sackville-Bedford Greenway Trail and the Fort Sackville Walkway.
Meetings 1st Thursday of each month at the SRA office. Open to all.

Special Information

Partnerships The trail was established with the support of local councillors, HRM Active Transportation (direct delivery), HRM Parks. Special thanks to the Sackville Lions Club for their ongoing support with clean ups and help with trail events.
