Description & Services
Information Seniors’ College Association of Nova Scotia is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing non-credit academic courses to seniors (age 50+) in Nova Scotia. Membership in the Association entitles the member to attend general meetings, participate in recommendations for courses and to attend any or all of the classes offered in the three semesters following their joining/renewal date (subject to some class-size limitations). 
SCANS offers a variety of courses in areas such as art, history, sociology, religion, music, photography, sciences and maths. Some of their past courses have included: "Film, Experimentation, Propaganda, Cultural Change and Photography (1930-65)", "Fall of Patriarchy & the Rise of Violence Against Women", "History of the Hollywood Musical: The Studio Years", "The Oil & Gas Industry and How It Affects You", "Geology of Nova Scotia", "War, Law & History",  
"The Greatest Philosopher", "The Writer’s Toolkit", and many more.
