Description & Services
Information Now in its 35th season, the Cantabile Society was formed in 1981 for the purpose of supporting the activities of the Cantabile Singers of Truro.  Since then, its activities have expanded to include the creation of the Cantabile Boys’ Choir and the brand-new Cantabile Impact! youth choir.  Cantabile choirs are proud supporters of the  annual Choirs for Comfort program and the Truro Music Festival.  The Cantabile Singers of Truro, the Society’s flagship program, provides eclectic concert programming for its audience in Truro and around the province, ranging from large scale classical works to a range of folk, popular, multinational, and contemporary styles.  Succeeding previous directors Jeff Joudrey and Ross Thompson, Chris Bowman began working as Artistic Director of the Society in 2013.

The Cantabile Boys’ Choir is a community choir for boys from grades 3-6. The choir meets on Tuesday afternoons from 4:15-5:30 p.m. and performs several times a year; in recent years we have performed regularly in concerts, and at fundraisers, football games, schools, and long term care facilities.

Cantabile Impact! is a mixed voice choir made of teens from grades 7-12. Our focus is on contemporary, socially relevant music. The choristers bring awareness to relevant social justice issues through music and give our youth an outlet to make an Impact! on our community. We have weekly rehearsals on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and perform regularly throughout the community during the year. All are welcome!

The Cantabile Singers of Truro is a mixed-voice adult community choir that provides eclectic concert programming for its audience in Truro and around the province. The choir meets on Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m., and performs 4-5 full concerts each year.
