Description & Services
Information | Canning Heritage Centre is a local museum operated by the Fieldwood Heritage Society and is located in downtown Canning along the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region. Canning was once the most populous community in Kings County and an important shipbuilding and merchant port from the early 1800s until the early 1900s. The museum displays artifacts on many aspects of historic Canning, from the early 1800s to present day, and has a collection of research material, including books, records and artifacts. The museum also has a special display dedicated to the extraordinary musician Wilf Carter who grew up in the area around Canning. A restored lighthouse is on site for public viewing. Please call during season for more information. |
