Information  
 
The SHYFT property, on the corner of Trinity Place and Argyle, has a large lawn area ideal for a community garden.  
 
The garden was established in 2010.  
 
The garden space was expanded in 2011 to provide a space for a youth development garden.  
 
The South End Kids Community Garden (SEKCG) seeks to engage children (particularly African Nova Scotian youth) in the south end of Yarmouth to learn gardening skills, positive work ethic, cooperation, teamwork, and entrepreneur skills. The produce (once harvested) from the garden is sold by the youth at the local farmer's market. 
 
The SEKCG requires community volunteers to help maintain it.
