| Information | If you are looking for places to visit in the South Colchester area, here are some awesome attractions to check out! Stewiacke River Park: Enjoy this natural, forested park with mature pine, hemlock, and spruce trees. Relax while you have a picnic with family or friends under the large timberframe picnic shelter or one of the many covered picnic tables. Take a walk on the trail along the river and through the woods (total length 2 km). For kids, you will love the playground, where there is swings and a slide! Before you leave take a moment to watch for wildlife, including bald eagles commonly seen along the river. Access the river for swimming (unsupervised), boating and fishing. For more information please click here.  Brookfield Golf and Country Club: Brookfield Golf and Country Club is an 18-hole par 70 course located off Highway 102 at exit 12. We are only 50 minutes north of Halifax and 10 minutes south of Truro. Our course is very easy to walk or drive if you prefer, only 2 holes have any uphill grade We have a small river that winds its way through the middle of the course which offers some challenge on some of the holes. Also, the club offers a small restaurants in our clubhouse, which offers light lunches, snacks and beverages. To visit Brookfield Golf and Country Club check out their website here  Brookfield Wetland and Nature Trail: Just off Highway 102 exit 12, take a break and explore the beautiful wetland and nature trail. You will likely spot some bird watchers thoughout each season. The wetlands is a popular spot to see common and sometime rare songbirds and waterfowl. The short nature trail around the wetland is very nice to stretch your legs and take in the fresh air. For more information click here.
