|Joyful Yoga offers a wide variety of yoga classes, including:
Beginners Yoga Absolute beginners start with this class to learn the fundamentals
of yoga. These classes tend to move slowly and are full of detailed instruction.
Healing Yoga This slow moving class often incorporates chairs and perfect for those healing from illness or injury. The class is ideal for people who are overweight, older or struggle with getting up & down from the floor. Modifications for the classic poses are used to receive all the benefits of yoga.
Flow Yoga The flowing series of postures will create harmony, grace and balance on all levels of breath, body and mind; designed to be both calming and invigorating.
Pre-Natal Yoga This introductory class is designed to give you tools to assist with pregnancy and labour by using the breath, body awareness and strengthening your intuition.
Yoga for Mental Health This class is designed to increase your self-awareness, self-esteem and ability to cope through yoga. Effective tools that can be practiced anywhere to regain control and happiness are part of this class.This is a focus on standing and balance postures, with lots of twists. This is also a great choice for those with high blood pressure or glaucoma.
Weekend Warrior This class is designed to leave you with the strength and softness of a warrior, giving you room to explore & re-charge.
Yogasana A Hatha yoga based practice that revolves around the physical postures of asanas (yoga poses). Designed to nurture yourself physically, mentally and emotionally through various series of stretching, asanas, breathwork, and relaxation. This class explores many poses, and emphasizes proper alignment. The class is calming and gentle paced, and will allow you to gradually build strength, increase flexibility, and reduce the effects of everyday stress. Gentle assists and the occasional use of props (wall, straps, cushions, blocks, etc) allow your body to safely relax and deepen your postures while advancing your yoga practice.
Gentle Flow This class begins with gentle breath work, building into gentle movements, warming the entire body. Breaking down poses while focusing on technique with any necessary modifications to suit your practice. This is a very gentle and empowering style of flow class.
Yin Yoga This class uses gentle and long held postures which target the deep connective tissues of the body. The postures are led with modifications, but are often quite challenging due to their duration. This class is open to all levels.
Lunch Crunch This class helps people build awareness of their "core" and its strength.
Mom 'n Babe Yoga This class is a place to connect with your breath, baby & other new mothers. Strength & patience are built through our breath & community. The class is breast feeding friendly.
Effort & Ease This all levels class focuses on alignment through becoming attuned to feeling asanas from the inside out. The class is designed to deepen your practice with presence and pranayama while learning to become steady, stable, and comfortable in poses that challenge the body and mind.
