| Information | Uechiryu Karate was derived from a Southern Chinese kung-fu system called Pangainoon. Uechiryu is one of the main systems of Karate in Okinawa. Technically, Uechiryu is best known for its practicality in close-combat situations, using the hands for grabbing, controlling, countering, and striking the legs, by delivering low kicks and leg sweeps. It is an excellent form of exercise, developing all muscle groups and providing a path to improved focus, balance, strength and self confidence, among many other benefits.
