MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Kingston Fire Department is to voluntarily provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants within our district from the adverse effects of fires, medical emergencies and exposure to other dangerous conditions. MEMBERSHIP: The Kingston District Fire Department is one of the largest departments in the Annapolis valley and is established for 60 members. New members may apply at any time during the year, and are generally only accepted monthly due to training cycles. However, exceptions are allowed at the discretion of the Fire Department Executive based on membership needs. Successful applicants’ probationary period is six months but can be extended should circumstances require. Upon completion of probationary period, where applicants have successfully completed primary firefighting skills in accordance with Kingston Fire Department Standard Operating Procedures, probationary members will be voted on by the general membership. Successful probationary members will then receive full voting rights as a regular member.
