Description & Services

Information Yarmouth Life Skills for Disabled Adults Association is a not for profit organization and registered charity located in the large warehouse on Hawthorn St. in beautiful Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. We provide a diversified day program for post school-age adults with intellectual and accompanying physical disabilities.  
 
Our location places us near town resources and provides plenty of opportunities for our clients to become active citizens. We have a beautiful open concept facility overlooking Yarmouth Harbour. 
 
We are an award winning one of a kind program in the Province of Nova Scotia.  
 
2011 – Winner of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award - Persons with Disabilities Employment Partnership Award. 
Nominated for the "Mobius Award" – Provincial Environment Award 
Nominated for "National Earth Day Award" 
 
Our programming reflects our belief that everyone has the right to live and work with dignity. We promote personal growth and enhance social and life skills through community integration opportunities, small group activities and individualized programming. We target adults who require ongoing social and life skill development and who cannot and likely will not be able to live or work independently during their lives. 
 
Eligibility YLS is accepting applications for post school age individuals, who have the ability to be in a group of three or four.
Hours 9:00 a.m.- 3:00p.m.
