Description & Services
Information Statement of Purpose 
“The museum will gather, organize and make available to the public, information on the natural environment, human settlement, use of natural resources, fishing, agriculture, industry, social history, genealogy, architecture, and all other aspects of the area’s past. It will collect objects and specimens which best illustrate these topics and which are authentic and well-documented and which the museum is able to care for. The museum aims to serve its community through a broad range of programs exhibits, publications, activities for school groups, facilities for meetings and for research by students and the general public. It will cooperate with other organizations and individuals attempting to understand and preserve the area’s history and natural environment.” 
 
The museum has a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy. It offers visitor information services (when open), free wi-fi in the parking lot, an enchanting backdrop of floral gardens, an apple orchard and waterfront area perfect for picnics, and seven kilometres of walking trails.
Hours May and June - Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. 
July and August - Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm & Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm. 
September and October - Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  
November to April - Thursdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Closed for all holidays.
