Description & Services

Information
 
Avon River Days is celebrated the weekend prior to the first Monday in August. It is a time for family fun and reunions, for remembering the past and celebrating our roots, and for making new memories to look back on. The Avon River Days committee is dedicated to making Avon River Days a bigger, better, and much loved celebration for Windsor and West Hants citizens and for the visitors to our area. We hope you've enjoyed the previous festivals, and we look forward to seeing you during Avon River Days 2018, which is being planned now and is almost here!
 
 
~Updates for 2019~
 
Family Fun Day 
Activities include a two hour wet n’ wild pool party (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm), followed by BBQ and activities in Elmcroft Park (3:00 pm - 5:00 pm) such as water balloons, face painting, parachute games and much more. Price includes pool party, hot dog, drink and activities in the park. Please note that pool passes are not applicable. 
When: Friday, August 2rd  
Time: 2:00 - 5:00 pm 
Where: Elmcroft Park 
Cost: $4.00 
 
Children’s Parade  
Face painting and balloons will be provided starting at 12:30 pm in the Community Centre.

When : Saturday, August 3th 
Line up : 1:00 pm (The Children’s Parade leads the Avon River Days Parade). 
Where : Windsor Community Centre 
Finish : Pick up at the Howard Dill statue on Water Street.  
 
Halifax Mermaids at Avon River Days  
Meet and swim with the Mermaids! 
When : Saturday, August 3th 
Time: 2:30 - 3:30 pm & 3:30 - 4:30 pm 
50 people maximum for each hour. 
Cost: $5.00/person. No pre-registration, first come first served. 
Where: Hants Aquatic Centre 
Rain date: Sunday, August 4th
