| Information | L’Arche Cape Breton sponsors a summer recreational program for young people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Ride the Wave Summer Program emphasizes a healthy, active lifestyle while at the same time having lots of fun and building friendships. The program enhances the participant’s engagement in their communities by taking part in local events and visiting local points of interest as well as field trips and educational excursions. Participants also enjoy arts and crafts, games and much more! Ride the Wave Summer Program fills a void for young people with intellectual disabilities who benefit from a daily, planned agenda, both physically and academically. The program assists families by providing much needed respite care to a family member with a disability by providing transportation to and from the program. |
